“Adventuring In Arizona” I hope you’re not sick of my Arizona photos. Haha. @rileybregar was such a humble person to meet on my three day adventure. The night before this I spent in the desert it was 30mph if not stronger winds. Then at night the temperature dropped below freezing. It was so nice to be able to shoot in a t shirt and could have worn shorts the next night. I really enjoyed the beauty of Arizona even though it can get really hot. I spend a lot of my trips traveling alone and it was nice to meet someone along the way to shoot with. It is always nice to be inspired by others than yourself. The bright light is the light pollution from Phoenix. I hope you enjoy this 3 shot pano stitched 50mm tracked and a 50mm foreground shot. 🙏🙏Tell me what you think in the comments!👇👇 —————————————————- To be a student of our night photography workshop click the link in my bio!!=>=<=>=<=<=>=>>>>=>=<===<>>> > @nikonusa > @manfrottoimaginemore tripod > @fstopgear backpack >Edited using @Lightroom @Photoshop =>==<=<=<=>==>>=<==<=<=>==

“The Arizona Milky Way” I loved Arizona so much I was so excited to be in the heat because Colorado has been a mixed bag of weather lately. We met up at my campsite near this place and hiked in about a mile or two. @rileybregar said this spot right next to a trail was perfect set up for some compositions with different cacti. I found this cholla that looked like the milky way was arching right out of it. I had to stop and snap this picture. I can’t wait to go back and explore more, I’m gonna have to avoid the critters though 🐍 🕷 🦂. “The Cholla Cactus” Two weeks ago I had the pleasure to meet up and shoot with @rileybregar and throughout the night he told me how to pronounce the name of this cactus. Capturing this type of cacti has been a dream of mine for years now. It is also known as the “jumping cactus” you do not want to get to close to these buggers. This was a single shot inspired by a shot I had seen on @rileybregar Instagram and I had to give it a try. Just a slight amount of light on the cactus while doing a 30 second exposure and I wanted a blue light. I am so happy the way this turned out and even though we saw tarantulas hiking out, I can’t wait to go to Arizona again. "50mm” About a year ago I purchased a 50mm lens. I asked @thelightninja if I should purchase one from @nikonusa I took a look at his shots and immediately bought one. I am so happy I invested in one because the Milky Way image it produces is so amazing. I took these photos in April during the new moon in @greatsanddunesnps It was a very cold night and I’m glad I packed a heavy jacket in my backpack. Coyotes howled throughout the night and it was quite an experience, I kept turning on my headlamp to check the nearest dune ridge. I am so happy to announce that @chasing luminance and I are hosting a workshop in August at Loveland Pass! Click the link my bio to join us on this amazing adventure and learn some astrophotograpgy! "The Colorado Milky Way" For this shoot I had the pleasure to finally meet @chasing luminance and now we are hosting a workshop together the first week of August. We had talked for over a year about the Milky Way and different ways we approach our shoots. This night was freezing and I think the temperature was about 5 degrees Fahrenheit. I packed up all my gear and left about 12am to get to this destination. The clouds were hanging just over where the Milky Way was suppose to be. I had arrived early about 1:30am or so. I decided to sleep in the back on my car covered in my ski jacket and wearing my snow pants. I was really hoping the clouds would clear. To my surprise they cleared up as soon as Alex arrived. The snow was deep and we had to tread carefully but we got to the spot we wanted. As we were leaving we noticed it looked like it was snowing in our headlamps but there were no clouds. How was this possible? We realized it was very humid for being 5 degrees out and the moisture was freezing right before our eyes. It added a cool disco effect to our headlamps as we were walking. All my gear was frozen solid after this shoot.Tell me what you think in the comments!👇👇 ————————————————— To join us on our night photography workshop click the link in Alex’s bio! =>=<=>=<=<=>=>>>>=>=<===<>>> > @nikonusa > @manfrottoimaginemore tripod > @fstopgear backpack >Edited using @Lightroom @Photoshop =>==<=<=<=>==>>=<==<=<=>==

A night under the stars @greatsanddunesnps The coyotes were howling but it did not stop me from trying to get an image like this. I tried dragging all my equipment up the dunes in less than an hour and about half way up the dunes I had to stop and turn around and shoot where I was. I coulda gone further but I woulda missed out on precious shooting time. I am so glad the clouds stayed away as well. This was during my last trip to @greatsanddunesnps the sky just exploded with colors. I really can’t wait to go back and explore some more. That valley has some of the darkest skies I’ve seen in Colorado. I just don’t recommend going when it is 100 degrees during the day. Also don’t forget your sunscreen when you go and be prepared to remove sand from everything you have there. “Dark Vs. Light” A couple weeks ago I had the pleasure to shoot with @chasing luminance and my phone died that morning. While driving back to Frisco the sky started to explode with colors. Quickly I tried to charge my phone and I saw Alex texted me but we didn’t have time to meet up. I had to find a spot quick, I scrambled into a parking lot next to the lake and got some awesome pictures. But I turned around at just the right time to see this mountain being struck the light. It was a reminder to me to always look around when you shoot you never know what you might miss. Notice the avalanche shoot as well this was fresh from one of the many avalanches that plagued summit county this year. Also! Tomorrow is my final exam for this semester. “The Valley of Goblins” Channeling my inner artistic side I made this composite a couple weeks ago and it took me forever to get around to finishing it. Goblin Valley holds a very special place in my heart as being the first place I really chased absolutely dark skies. The light pollution is so minimal there that you can see majority of the Milky Way with the naked eye. It was spooky hearing an owl 🦉 whoooing all night but it added to the experience. I can’t wait to go back and visit my Goblin friends but I’m 2 weeks I will be traveling to Arizona to chase the Milky Way. If anyone would like to meet up or has suggestions for spots shoot me a dm. “The Relentless Climb” For a couple years now I have wanted to make a trip out to @greatsanddunesnps I did not realize how deceiving the dunes actually were till I was standing at the base of one. Now I know that some of the dunes are the tallest in North America. Some of them tower over 750 feet tall. Walking up them with an @fstopgear wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be. Out of breath and no time to set up my tripod I took a picture of the tallest dune next to me. “The Center of the Milky Way” For about two years now, at least once a month during season I have chased this right here. It never has been really warm most the time I bring my ski jacket and gloves. Hand warmers sometimes as well. I have lost quite a few nights of sleep for this right here and I feel every time it is so worth it. With camera technology and telescope technology we are just starting to scratch the surface of the space frontier. I feel it is the grounds for learning more about the universe and possible planning for exploration. I am so glad to live in an age this is possible. I hope to retire with an observatory one day. “Mount Doom” I arrived to the parking lot of @greatsanddunesnps just in the nick of time. The sky started to explode over the other side of the dunes and I quickly threw my @fstopgear backpack on my back. I walked at a very fast pace until I reached the first incline of the dunes. I was not ready for what was about to happen next. My 40lb bag and trying to run up the sand dunes was not very easy. I was dying to get close to the top for a better vantage point. Sweating and huhfin and puffing I made it just below the top. My feet would just sink more and more every step I took and my shoes were filled with sand. I am so glad I put in so much effort to reach a better perspective though. This is just one of many comps I got from that sunset. “Popcorn in the Jaws of Mother Nature” This was taken on our way to sky pond in @rockynps We did not get to the actual pond in time for the sky to erupt, but we got to these amazing rock formations just below the pond and close to timberline falls. That hike was rough with all my camera gear but it was so worth it. I needed some nature therapy in my life when I captured this and she didn’t disappoint. I can’t wait to go back to sky pond and hopefully shoot the Milky Way there. We had intended to but the moon was out. Due to improper planning on my part. Non the less the adventure was worth every second. Except for getting lost in the dark on the way back. “The Stillness of Night” The first time I visited the PNW I immediately fell in love. I think I’m planning a big trip back this July! Even though I was eaten alive by mosquitoes to get this photo. I was at peace the whole time. The stillness of the water after a rough windy day was such a nice touch. Not a single frog or bird could be heard. Just the mosquitoes in my ear telling me that they were going to bite me. Bender was sitting right next to me enjoying the view of darkness and stars glimmering in the sky. “The Start of Something New” I hope this post gets me to 5k! I am almost there! Thank you everybody for following me! You push me to better myself. This is the very last picture of my Longs Peak series for awhile. After shooting the Milky Way in @rockynps I was spoiled by this sunrise that morning. As soon as blue hour hit the clouds started to roll in and I was very excited for an epic sunrise. I noticed the light was not reaching far into @rockynps and I was worried that it would never reach Longs Peak in time for the color explosion. I had put my camera away twice due to my indecisiveness and lack of not sleeping at all. The second time almost immediately the side of Longs Peak lit up like a Christmas Tree. I scrambled to put my gear back together to shoot. I am very glad I didn’t leave the two times I was thinking about leaving. I spent days looking for a clear night near Denver. I almost headed out a couple nights before taking these shots but the weather completely changed. I am very happy that I waited to go shoot. On a spur of the moment decision, I saw that @rockynps had some of the clearest skies near Denver. It was the most snow I have ever seen on the Bear Lake trail entrance. The snow was taller than my Jeep. I hiked out to one of my favorite overlooks of Longs Peak. I quickly set up shop but the core did not rise like it was suppose to at 3:30am. I started to freak out thinking I was wasting my time and missed it. But through the light pollution at 4:00am the Milky Way began to appear. I jumped with joy, let out a scream, and I told myself I had to shoot a panorama. The first time I had ever seen this spot was in a panorama image. Last night was the first night in 2019 that I have captured the Milky Way! I think it is really cool that Jupiter is in the dark horse this year! It was -6 degrees in @rockynps and I danced in that area in the pitch black dark for hours. I’m still de thawing and my fingers and toes are tingling haha. I think I need a hot tub. It was a wonderful night to bring in the 2019 Milky Way year. There was so much snow it was insane and more is on the way right now. I can’t wait to do some warmer shots already and not have to stay up all night to shoot the Milky Way. I’m so tired and can’t wait to get some sleep tonight. Goblin Valley sunsets are amazing!!! I remember scrambling into the park while this sunset was happening. I parked, quickly grabbed all my gear, and sprinted down into the valley. “Longs Peak Milky Way” It’s that time of year again!! In a couple weeks the Milky Way will be right over Longs Peak for a couple months. I had only seen one or two pictures of the Milky Way over Longs Peak and I had to set out to capture it. After I got this picture last year I feel like the spot blew up and many people set out to get this comp. I might have started a trend and if you see me on the side of the trail in a couple weeks don’t forget to say hi! Bring some hand warmers and blankets it was 8 degrees last year. “Goblin’s Layer” My friend three years ago told me about a place called Goblin Valley. I was not into astrophotography quite yet and wanted to explore this place. I’m so glad that I bought a camera before I traveled to Goblin Valley. It is one of my favorite areas to explore in the country. It has endless adventures and landscapes. The landscape can change with a turn of a road. I have spent the last two spring breaks exploring this area and I’m still not done with it. This was the view right out the front of my tent. One of my favorite abandoned places I have ever visited. The Crystal Mill just outside Marble, Colorado is so cool! It was a very long hike and I do recommend using a really good 4x4 vehicle. There are some very high clearance areas that you must avoid. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner when we were there and he is so cool. He was telling us how much people use his property and try to sue him when they do not so smart things at the Mill. Like jumping in the water for example he said just that day he had to have someone arrested for jumping in. Also, do not camp on his property which most of the hike/road is his property. We stayed in a campground just outside of Redstone. I can’t wait to go back here! I hope he doesn’t have to start limiting this location but he was saying he might have to. The Oregon Coast this past summer was such an amazing place to visit. The rock formations that can be seen along the coast are mesmerizing! We pulled over on our journey for dinner and ended up at this beach. The sunset was just magnificent so many colors and colors wisps of clouds. I can not even begin to describe what it is like to experience a lunar eclipse. This took quite awhile to edit but I had these shots in my head before I headed to Boulder. I wanted to capture each phase of the lunar eclipse and align them like this. It was freezing cold and waiting for the final full moon was the rough part. I wanted to leave but I was committed to it. Then processing took quite awhile to thumb through 800 pictures and see which ones in each phase were the best. Then each moon had to be edited. So overall to get this image it took about 9 hours to capture and process it. I can’t imagine the amount of time that goes into deep space photography. “Star Wars” Last night was such an amazing experience! I can not even begin to describe what it is like to experience a lunar eclipse. We decided to go to Chautauqua Park in Boulder right below the Flat Irons. The park was filled with people and so was the mountain road next to us. It started off kinda cloudy but all night we were very lucky to have a portal to the stars. As soon as totality hit you could hear the entire city of Boulder, the park, and that mountain road just erupt with howling. 🐺 I saw this air plane just in a split second and had to try to capture it. My favorite investment into photography gear so far has been my @fstopgear Tilopa backpack. I found this company when they were a kickstarter and had to get one. When my Tilopa arrived I was shocked how light it was and even with all my camera gear in it and my tripod strapped on the back it felt great. You can see me wearing this in any situation while doing photography. It is my mobile battle station. Even when just doing urban shots I lug this backpack around. I had to get an image of it last week while shooting with my friends @neosecho1 @elevated aerial @mattic112 @geo floo @dustindoingstuff @shotz_by_eez It was so awesome to have such a large crew out! This was a special moment I captured the day before my 25th birthday. Thousands and thousands of people hike this trail each year. It is the most popular hike in Rocky Mountain National Park and the view of Hallett Peak never gets old. We were packing up because all the sudden we heard thunder roar behind the peak. Before I packed everything up, I wanted to capture some longer exposure shots because the clouds allowed me to do so. This was captured last July during the peak of the wildfires in Colorado. I traveled all the way up to Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park. It was suppose to be clear skies. As soon as I got to the road I realized this was not the case. You could see the smoke just hanging in the valley and it was hard to make out the stars but they could be faintly seen through the smoke. I was really sad and still sad that so many fires plagued my state last year. I thought I had got skunked out that night and I avoided pictures from it. The other day I was going through my library and took a closer look at what I captured. I could see the core and the dark horse just above the smoke. I really hope this year that we are more conscious of when we start fires and how to extinguish them. “The Future and History” “Looking into the universe I see the future. I can see my desires and dreams. I can find myself in the universe and what I am becoming. I see people that I have met on this journey and they are no longer here. I look behind me at the earth and I see history. I see the mistakes I have made and how they have changed me. I have learned from the past and the earth and I will continue to do so.” -Krispy On my last trip in Rocky Mountain National Park I was hiking past this bench on trail ridge road and I noticed using my @photopills app. The Milky Way would line up perfectly with this bench the last 30 or 40 minutes the Milky Way was setting. I couldn’t believe the view you could see from the bench. I left the main area just in time to set up for these shots. I had my tracker on my tripod and tracked the Milky Way, then I shot the foreground. Just a simple blend, no composite. It made for such an awesome picture! Don’t forget I’m still doing a giveaway!! Look at my last post for entry details! We will announce a winner next Monday! Don’t miss out to get a print or a national parks pass! I hope you enjoy this!🙏 Tell me what you think in the comments!👇 =>=<=>=<=<=>=>>>>=>=<===<>>> > @nikonusa > @manfrottoimaginemore tripod > @fstopgear backpack >Edited using @Lightroom @Photoshop =>==<=<=<=>==>>=<==<=<=>==

“The Eye Of Arches National Park” This image is something different than you usually see of delicate arch. I am really bummed that IG makes me crop this down but look at my story to see the full size of the image. The arch I was standing in looked like an eye and was such a cool spot to shoot from. The Milky Way I captured about an hour later from the foreground, I moved my tripod so I could track the stars so this is a composite. This was one of my favorite nights to view the stars this year. I thought I was going to get skunked out but something told me I needed to hike up to the arch. I am very glad I did because I met some really good friends and got to shoot one of the most iconic places in Utah. Welcome to Utah!
