Time to hit the reset button. 🛑 . I can’t really remember the last time when I actually took a break from the gym, and given my body some time to recover. Even after my previous comps, I still kept pushing myself as much as I could, probably cause I feel that working out is a part of my life, and I can’t really see myself being able to stay away from it for long(which let me tell you is not at all a good idea, cause our body needs that recovery break ). But in doing this, I somehow may have hit a plateau, and I legit feel I’ve stopped progressing, which is not a good thing, but not so uncommon either. Each one of us hit a training plateau at one point or other in life, and that’s when You gotta take a break from the gym, rest & relax, and have a cool of period for a bit. Cause there’s no point in overworking your body, if You’re not able to see any progress. Rather You’d wanna utilise that time in taking a step back, resting up, and planning a new fitness strategy for when You get back and start everything fresh . Being overweight sucks. Being overweight in the Australian summer fucking sucks. For the past couple of summers I’ve been miserable, staying covered up not only because I was too ashamed of my body to show any skin but wearing shorts or skirts was impossible because of my huge ass thighs would rub together and the pain Would be excruciating. I’m finally at a size where I can COMFORTABLY wear shorts and skirts without this issue! #nsv Well I did something today. I bought a skirt. 😁

Money money money!!! . . The biggest objection I hear about joining my team is money. So let me break it down for you. Time is money. Drive to the gym: 10-30 min Spend time at the gym: ~60 min Drive home or work: 10-30 min Total: ~80-120 min Gym membership: $20-100 a month Pure Barre: $179 a month Orange Theory: $159 a month CrossFit: $75-$200 a month Now I loved PureBarre (probably my most favorite place I ever used to exercise! ), I love CrossFit and I am still dying to try an Orange theory class. But here the deal, even the closest gym is a 30 min drive. Any specialty studio is at least 45 min drive. And specialty studios don’t offer child care. So thankfully I have an opportunity to do yoga, barre, hiit, intense cardio and any workout I want in the comfort of my own home, not having to rely on anyone’s schedules or weather or child care with my virtual gym. Walk to my gym: 1 min Exercise: ~30 min Total time: ~31 min Imagine what you could do with an extra hour of your time!!! . While there are times those stars do all perfectly align & that miracles do happen, it is more often the case that it will never happen for you! If you don’t believe that life is one big test and we are the test subjects, you have another thing coming! No one is exempt from experiencing hardships in life. There are so many days when we don’t feel like working on ourselves- when it would be much easier to stay in bed and not get up, when it would be easier to say fuck it to putting on the running shoes, when it is easier to buy the box of mini-chocolate donuts, etc. Some times it feels so damn good to just be the victim. Having that mentality is the ultimate get-out-of-jail-free card. One thing bad about that mentality is that NOTHING fucking gets done! So when you fail (and I_dont_mean_not_win_I_mean_an_inability_to_try! ) and you feel like a loser and worthless, it is because you have made a decision to fail. You have made a decision to stay in bed, etc. A lot of people frequently say “there is always tomorrow”...the truth is there just May not be! There is only today and what you make of it! You have to learn to do when you don’t want to do! When that alarm clock goes off & ur mind says “not today,” there has to be something in you that overrides that bullshit that you are telling yourself. There has to be a drill sergeant in your mind banging that trash can not allowing you to take the easy way out. The hard part is this- that drill sergeant doesn’t exist! You have to create him/her!
