Seeing Arisaig from the Skerries opened up a whole new love of this part of the west coast for me. At high tide, we could paddle between these small islands and semi submerged rocks while at low tide, a new landscape appeared as many of the islands are interconnected by a sand bar made up of sand, coral and shells left by the receding tide. A great place to practice SUPing if it's a calm day. Spot the Cuillin?

This is a Bristlecone Pine Tree. Though these trees are special for many reasons the most notable is that they can grow to be 5,000 years old, making them the longest living organisms on Earth. Even after they die they’ve been known to stand for another 2000 years in place. Found in only a few places in the world these incredibly hearty trees have the ability to kill sections of themselves to conserve its precious resources. This particular grove of trees is in Nevada of all places! Just standing in the presence of something that has seen as much as they have was awe-inspiring! PS: I want to be a travel show hostess when I grow up. I’m not kidding, I’ve seriously always wanted to have the opportunity to share the world with people who may not have access to it 😘 not giving up on that dream either! PSS: Though this tree particular Bristlecone is no longer living, I made sure to not stand on any portion of the tree so it can be free to pay witness to the next 2,000 years. However, I did give it a light hug so it knows it’s doing a great job ❤️ ~ ~ ~ ~ #wearewild #womenwhohike #wildernessbabes #moutaingirls #sheexplores #optoutside #exploreourearth #womenontheroad #livewylder #keepitwild #livebravely #adventureanywhere #thegreatoutdoors #getoutstayout #theadventureproject #neverstopexploring #outdoor_mentality #goneoutdoors #outdoorsociety #sheadventures #alpine_babes #wildernessbabes #outdoorwomen #campingcollective #fulltimeexplore #findyourbackcountry #ourplanetdaily #greatbasinnp #earthfocus

And that is it! Today was our last day in Cornwall 😔 my parents are leaving on Saturday and we're heading home super early in the morning to hopefully not get stuck in as much traffic as we did when we headed down. We've had a lovely time and the weather's been great. We've not done as much as we normally do but it's been nice to relax abit and spend time as a family ❤️ now to countdown 4 weeks til we head off to Devon! #theadventuresofethel #abbeyfreestyle #makingmemories #caravanupdate #caravandecor #visitengland #goexplore #caravan #thegreatoutdoors #traveluk #roadtrip #doyoutravel #caravanning #getoutandexplore #homeiswhereyouparkit

The Coyote Melon leaf soft and fuzzy looking up close. It has been said the name Coyote Melon is not derived from Coyotes eating the melons, rather it is derived from O’odham 🍉🍉people of Arizona’s Southern Sonoran Desert. The O’odham people deduced that the only way such a distasteful gourd could have been cultivated was through the scat of a Coyote. This was said to be the case, mainly because of the melon’s bitter taste, not so pleasant smell and the fashion in which it was dispersed throughout the desert. So, to answer the question “can these melons be eaten?” the answer is no, 🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏽‍♂️the fleshy part of the Melon is too bitter, but, the seeds are indeed edible. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏽‍♂️Although, some may argue it just a matter of taste and timing. @desertsun

😂 . #saariselkä #lapland #finland #husky

I don’t normally like my race photos, I am competitive, try hard, run as fast as I can and the result is normally a sweaty unglamorous shot....however, I really like this one from last weekends Snowdonia Trail Half Marathon by #melparryphotography totally sums up why I love running here in North Wales 🏃🏼‍♀️⛰💕 #snowdonia #snowdoniatrailmarathon #snowdoniagram #snowdoniapics #trailrunning #mountainsofthemind #northwalesinstagram #melparryevents #myhappyplace #loverunning #thegreatoutdoors #findyourepic #getoutside #gonorthwales #northwalestourism #mountainside #discovernorthwales #runhappy #lovenature #beautifulplace

An oldie but goodie and one of my top sellers. This image was taken two years ago on a blitzkrieg into Glacier. I’d had a long work week capped off with a hot 3-day art show in Kalispell. The northern lights forecast had been looking good on my last evening of the show and the beargrass was rumored to be out of control at the higher elevations in the park. So instead of heading home to Missoula for some much needed rest and sleep before work on Monday morning, I opted for the camera and ventured into GNP for a few hours before sunset. I wasn’t disappointed. Found the beargrass and snapped some photos near Logan Pass before sunset. Then contemplated a good location for the northern lights. Logically, I headed for one of the furthest points from me in the park and found myself watching sunset on Bowman Lake. I waited. As the sun disappeared and stars began to dot the sky, I waited for the lights across the flat calmness of Bowman Lake. A faint glimmer of lights appeared across the lake around midnight, but the storm that had been predicted wasn’t showing its full might. At this point it was around 1 am - had to be at work for a conference call at 9 with a 4.5-hour drive ahead of me. So I decided to head in the direction of home testing out a few other locations on the way. If you haven’t been to the North Fork region of the park, add it to your list. Some true solitude from the crowds. I always stop as I pass over Bowman Creek during the daytime hours to check for wildlife, but this time I decided I really didn’t want to find wildlife in the dead of night while taking a test shot with no one for miles. I snapped one test shot and knew the lights had picked up since my departure from Bowman Lake. However, the foreground of the creek was too dark, so I decided to use my headlamp to ‘paint’ the foreground to bring out some detail. One shot is all it took - to capture the lights, the wildness of the creek, and a shooting star! Wish I could have planned it better. The lights continued on through the evening as I ventured south and had one of my favorite evenings of exploration and light chasing. Not much sleep was had, but I did make the 9 am call!

For hours, the clouds continued to move around the mountain. One minute blue skies, the next, back into the clouds. Combined with steep slopes and scree, made for an challenging hike.
