🇰🇷 SEOUL TRAVEL TIP: Definitely stop by the amazing Seoulism Cafe when you’re in this city. You can get a delicious drink (I recommend anything with passion fruit that they do 😋 ) and then go up to their terrace for this amazing view 🏙 . The skyscraper in front of me is Lotte World Tower - the tallest building in South Korea and the 5th tallest building in the world! You can obviously have a nice drink with a view on the top floors there as well, although isn’t it nice to be able to see this landmark in the cityscape as well? 😉😍 . Do you have a favourite place for a drink with a view? 🍹 . Welcome to the colorful world of Jogyesa Temple! 🌈 We came here two weeks ago with @travelgram_korea and I was totally mesmerized by this canopy of hundreds (if not thousands ) of beautiful lanterns! 🏮 . This temple is the heart of Korean Buddhism, and these colorful lanterns have been put up in various temples and streets of Seoul to celebrate Buddha’s birthday - which is an official holiday in South Korea. According to Buddhist beliefs, lanterns symbolize wisdom as they bring light to the world ✨ . If your birthday were a national holiday, what would you decorate the city with? 😃🎉 . #koreabyme 📍Jogyesa Temple, Seoul, South Korea . . . . #seoul 🇰🇷 #travellingthroughtheworld #earth #passionpassport #acolorstory #earthfocus #earthpix #nakedplanet #girlsdreamtravel #lonelyplanet #letsgoeverywhere #tlpicks #lovetheworld #bbctravel #lpfanphoto #wearetravelgirls #iamatraveler #seoulkorea #discoverearth #girlswhotravel #visitseoul #voyaged #sheisnotlost #travelholic #dametraveler

Welcome to my Korea series! 🇰🇷 I might be mixing it up with some other places too, but for now this is the beautiful city of Tongyeong! 🌿 . This city is not only home to a beautiful port, but it also has traditional fish markets which are bustling at dawn. If you’re interested in a quiet stroll, there’s also a beautiful mural village, which was saved from demolition thanks to the art students that painted it all! 😍🎨 . Other things to do here include going up to Mireuksan Mountain, enjoying the coastal views from Yi Sun-Sin Park, and exploring the nearby island of Somaemuldo! So if you’re planning to visit South Korea, don’t forget that Seoul is not the only place worth visiting 😉 . Thanks for inviting me to explore your beautiful country, @travelgram_korea ! 💛 #koreabyme 📍Tongyeong, South Korea . #tongyeong #livetravelchannel #travelingtheworld #lifeofadventure #travellingthroughtheworld #voyaged #sheisnotlost #awesomeglobe #naturegeography #korea #earth #passionpassport #travelholic #earthfocus #earthpix #nakedplanet #girlsdreamtravel #roamearth #outdoortones #awakethesoul #southkorea #lonelyplanet #awesome_earthpix #sidewalkerdaily #naturelovers

Do you like talking to locals when you travel? For me, it’s something I love doing but wish I can do more of - as it’s often times limited by language barriers, especially in countries like Iran or Uzbekistan. . But the other day I was very excited to discover something that will make things a lot easier in that respect. I came across an instant voice translator that’s very portable and translates to more than 32 languages on the go 🎙 The great thing about it is that the company that makes it consults with local experts to make their translations not only accurate but also casual and natural - including a bit of slang in some languages too! It translates replies as well, and will be a great help whether you’re trying to get by in a new country or simply want to have more meaningful conversations with locals 💛 . If you’re interested in using it for your next trip, I have a 50% discount code JIAYI50 which you can use on their website www.etraducteur.com (link in my bio as well 🔗 ) This code is available for 24 hours only, and you will also get free delivery on top! 🎁 . Where are you headed next, and do you plan on chatting to locals? 💙 . #etraducteur #ad 📍Sultan Amir Ahmad Bathhouse, Kashan, Iran

I can’t believe there are now 100K of you beautiful souls joining my adventures... when just March of last year we were 10K 😳❤️ I’m honestly at a loss for words at the amount of love and support you guys have shown me, especially in the last few days when you guys launched a random campaign to get me to 100K — you are honestly the most incredible community I know, and I don’t even know where to begin to thank you all properly!!! 💙🙏🏼 . I want to give back to you guys in so many ways though. Starting with a little tip 💛 I get asked a lot about how to grow on Instagram. While it’s always a combination of things - there’s one in particular that has been my personal driving force: I don’t post anything on my feed that I’m not 100% satisfied with. I can spend hours editing each photo because of that, and by editing I don’t mean changing the way a place looks. I mean making sure that the tones in the shot fit the rest of my feed; that the perspective is correctly adjusted (because cameras often distort photos ); that the things I want your eyes to focus on actually stand out in the photo; that the right colours are popping, and so much more. In short - it’s all in the little details ✨ . And when I don’t know how to fix something, I look it up. There are so many free photography & editing resources online, and I’ve learned so many new tricks and techniques this past year simply because I set very high standards for my work. . By no means am I saying that you should be a perfectionist too - trust me it doesn’t make life easy AT ALL 🤣🙈 But I do encourage you to push the boundaries with everything you create - to pay attention to the details, to never settle and to always be hungry to learn more! 💙 . Here’s a massive and profound THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for all you amazing people 🙏🏼 I appreciate you guys more than you know and can’t wait to take you on many more adventures with me! 🌎 Lots of love from London ❤️ . xx Jiayi

Eid Mubarak to all my friends here who celebrate! 💛 . Sharing a beautiful mosque in honour of this festival - here’s the fascinating Nasir ol-molk Mosque in Shiraz 🕌 While its interiors are known for the stained glass windows and natural light shows in the morning, its exteriors are just as remarkable - filled with intricate details, colours and symmetry! Make sure to spend time exploring both when you’re here 😉😍 . 📍Nasir-ol-molk Mosque, Shiraz, Iran . 📸: self-shot with tripod

Hi friends! 👋🏼 I’m back with a bit more from Iran before taking you guys to Korea! 😊 Have also been working on some cool projects for you guys, including two upcoming group trips where I’ll host photography workshops, and am very excited to announce the amazing destinations really soon, so stay tuned! 😉💛 . This photo is from one of the oldest buildings inside Golestan Palace, Tehran. This room boasts the finest stained glass window in the entire palace, and outside it, there are four wind towers of different colours. That’s why it’s called Building of the Windcatchers 🌬 . The majestic Golestan Palace is a must-see in Tehran. Not only does it have several buildings that look as fascinating as this one, but there are also beautiful gardens surrounding it and I absolutely loved the vibes there! 🌿 . 📍Golestan Palace, Tehran, Iran

If you were to ask me where my favourite city in Iran is, I’d say Kashan without a doubt. I felt a sense of peacefulness here that was different from anywhere else. There was something about the quiet narrow alleys and sights like Agha Bozorg Mosque (pictured here ). This mosque looks very modest compared to many other ones I’ve seen in Iran - don’t get me wrong, they’re all beautiful, but I was really impressed with the simple and authentic vibes of this one 🕌 . And the most important bit? The people. We met many friendly people in Iran, but Kashan blew us away in that respect, with an incredible amount of strangers striking up conversations with us, welcoming us to their country and inviting us to their homes 💙 . So if you’re planning to come to Iran, make sure not to skip this sometimes overlooked city! 😉 . 📍Agha Bozorg Mosque, Kashan, Iran

Hey friends! 💛 I’m on my way to the airport right now and heading to Seoul! 🇰🇷 It was quite a last minute trip but I can’t wait to show you guys some beautiful islands in the Southern part of South Korea, where I will be for the rest of the week 😍 . This photo was taken at📍Naqsh-e Rustam - one of the most spectacular sites of the Achaemenid Empire. Here you’ll find colossal rock-cut tombs of Persian kings dating back to the first millennium BC. As you can see, these tombs are engraved on the façade of a mountain range that’s considered sacred. This site is only 5 km from Persepolis and definitely worth visiting when you’re in Shiraz, Iran! 🇮🇷 . In other exciting news: I’m organizing a group trip for next year so that I can get a chance to meet and travel with you guys! 😊 Just head on over to my Stories if you’re interested! 😘 . And just to get a general idea, if you were to join me on a group trip, where would you want to go? 🤗✈️🌍

And here it is... the result of the most stressful photoshoot I’ve ever done 🙈 The Pink Mosque in Shiraz is an absolute wonder in the morning light, but I recommend visiting during low season (November to February ) if you want to experience it in peace 🙂🙈 . I had exactly 1 take and less than 5 seconds to sit here for a shot in an incredibly stressful morning tainted by very competitive tourist photographers. During my first attempt to get this shot, I was yelled at by people after I waited more than 15 minutes for them to get their shot 🤷🏻‍♀️ . This is just a reminder that Instagram is *not* real life. The photos I post here are only my form of art - my creative expression. They’re *not* meant to give you the impression that my travels are “perfect” nor create the expectation that travelling should be filled with these unattainably “perfect” moments — because let’s be real, behind the scenes of these “perfect” IG photos is usually a very sleep deprived and stressed out Instagrammer running around with a tripod — in this case, wondering how on earth she can even get the shot 😅 . With that said, this is my favourite photo from Iran and I just want to thank you guys for always motivating me to work hard and push harder. Your encouraging comments and messages warm my heart and make stressful mornings like this one completely worth it 😘🙏🏼 . Now I want to know, what’s the most stressful photoshoot you’ve done? 😄 . 📍Nasir-ol-Molk Mosque, Shiraz, Iran

Did you know that Isfahan was once called ‘Isfahan nasf-e jahan’ which literally means ‘Isfahan is half the world’? 💙 . In the course of its history, Isfahan has been ruled by fourteen different empires, had been capital of Iran twice and was one of the largest cities in the world. . Today, it has 162 mosques, 48 colleges, 273 public baths and more than 1,800 caravanserais - courtyards where travelers found food and lodging during the medieval times. . Standing there that one peaceful morning at 7:30 am, I’ve never felt so small 🙏🏼 . 📍Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque, Esfahan, Iran . 📸: self-shot with tripod

Have you ever been somewhere that felt like a real life escape room? 🤓 Mollabashi House in Esfahan totally gave me that experience. There were so many consecutive doors in this big mansion, and we were trying each one of them to see where it’d lead us. . And I’m so glad that one of them lead us to the second floor of this gorgeous room 😍✨ . What’s a place you really enjoyed exploring every corner of? . 📍Mollabashi House, Esfahan, Iran

About 10 kilometers from the mosques and clay-coloured houses at the city center of Yazd, there’s another center of history and tradition - this one, in the middle of the desert. The Towers of Silence were where Zoroastrians performed their sky burial rituals up until 40 years ago. . Zoroastrians believed that once someone dies, their body could be contaminated by demons. So in their tradition, they would lay corpses on top of the Towers of Silence (you can see one of them in front of me ) and let them slowly decompose while being picked apart by desert vultures. This was part of their “purification” process. . What really struck me while visiting this place were the buildings surrounding the towers (in this photo, I’m standing inside the ruins of one of them ). Some of these buildings were inhabited by “Nesasalar” - the people who used to be in charge of funeral services here. Because they spent so much time around corpses - many of which infected were with diseases - they were not allowed to enter the village due to fear of spreading infectious disease. I couldn’t imagine what that must have been like. . Standing here that day amongst so much history and tradition, I felt incredibly humbled and in awe at the different cultures that grace our world and at how much there is to learn 💛 . 📍Towers of Silence, Yazd, Iran . 📸: self-shot with tripod

We met a very friendly local at this mosque. He came up to us and explained how difficult it was to built the mosque, because it’s covered in countless tiny mosaic tiles. He also told us the story of the first ever foreigner to visit modern day Iran. According to this story, this man was from France and would come to Iran again and again for the sole purpose of visiting this mosque - staying here for hours on end each time. When someone asked him why he comes back here every time, he just said, “you see the entire world here.” . I’ve only been here twice, but I must say I completely agree. Do you? 💛 . 📍Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque, Esfahan, Iran

This is my favourite mosque in Iran. It’s very different from the other mosques I’ve seen; reminds me slightly of Taj Mahal, and this view from the entrance with the perfect framing and symmetry completely satisfied the photographer in me 🙈😍 . Agha Bozorg Mosque was built in the late 18th century and if you walk a bit further into the frame here, you’ll find a beautiful central courtyard and a pool in the middle of it. The mosque also houses a madrasah (theological school ) and was constructed for prayers, preaching and teaching sessions held by Agha Bozorg 🕌 . 🇮🇷 TRAVEL TIP: I suggest visiting this mosque during sunset. It’s very peaceful at that time, and you can then watch the mosque lights change colours while the call to prayer takes place 🙏🏼 . What’s your favourite symmetrical place? 🤓 . 📍Agha Bozorg Mosque, Kashan, Iran

🇮🇷 IRAN TRAVEL TIP: If you want to visit somewhere less touristy - not too far from the famous Shah Cheragh complex in Shiraz stands the beautiful mausoleum and shrine of Sayyed Alaeddin Hossein. The interiors here are breathtaking as you can see. The arches, walls and dome are decorated with intricate mosaics of mirror and coloured glass, creating beautiful combinations of light ✨ . Please note that you need to ask a staff member for permission before taking photos with a DSLR here. I asked and waited for their approval before setting up my tripod 💙 . Have you ever seen mirror mosaics before? Would love to hear where! 🙂 . 📍Sayyed Alaeddin Hossein Shrine, Shiraz, Iran . 📸: self-shot with tripod

One of the highlights of my Iranian trip was definitely staying at @ghasr monshi.hotel 🌿 I showed you guys the beautiful courtyard of this hotel last time, but I love the effort the staff has put in decorating every corner of this place. . It was so pleasant to relax here in the afternoon, sipping tea and admiring the beautiful plants. And I’ll mention this again: the staff here is incredible - they go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and I’m super grateful to them ❤️ . A little break from the gorgeous tiles, mosques and shrines of Iran because this country has a lot of other things as well! 😉💎 . Sar Yazd Castle was once the oldest and largest treasury in the world. It was built in the 7th century, had 450 chambers across 3 floors, and was used to store and safeguard grains, food and gold when the city was under attack 🏰 . I loved that it’s surrounded by desert, and walking through it felt like navigating a maze. Some alleys are so narrow that only one person can pass at a time, and in order to actually find all the hidden entrances and chambers, you definitely need a guide! 😅 . TRAVEL TIP: Go all the way to the top of the tallest tower, where you’ll be rewarded with a stunning and unique view of the surrounding desert and mountains ⛰ . What’s the last castle you’ve been to? . 📍Sar Yazd Castle, Yazd, Iran . 📸: self-shot with tripod

🇮🇷 IRAN TRAVEL TIP: Many places in Iran can get quite crowded with tourists. But if you venture a bit outside of the city of Kashan, you’ll come across the village of Aran va Bidgol. This town isn’t very touristy and is home to the beautiful Shrine of Hilal ibn Ali (pictured here ). I loved that it wasn’t crowded at all (this photo was taken at 2 PM ) and very peaceful especially once you go inside the shrine 🙏🏼 . This shrine is highly respected and sacred, which means that in order to enter, women must wear a chador - a large piece of cloth that covers your entire body, starting from your head. You can rent one for free at the entrance of the shrine ☺️ . Do you usually stick with the popular spots when you travel, or do you prefer to venture a bit off the main paths? . 📍Shrine of Hilal ibn Ali, Iran

One place in Iran that really blew me away is Sultan Amir Ahmad Bathhouse in Kashan 🇮🇷 It’s a traditional Iranian public bathhouse built in the 16th century. . Bathhouses in Iran have existed since the pre-Islamic days. But after the country converted to Islam, washing one’s body for “ritual purity” became a requirement of religious life, and bathing an integral part of it. There were once thousands of bathhouses all across the country. Nowadays, their popularity declined as most modern homes have showers and baths. The few public bathhouses that remain in Iran now are mostly there for day laborers and tourists. . Have you ever been in a public bathhouse, and would you bathe in one? 💦 . 📍Sultan Amir Ahmad Bathhouse, Kashan, Iran

If you’re wondering what kind of hotels you can stay in while traveling in Iran, here’s a glimpse 😉🇮🇷 . @ghasr monshi.hotel was one of my favourite hotels in Iran. From the moment I stepped in, I was super impressed by its stylish decors, the incredibly warm staff, the amazing tea & food and the top notch hospitality 💛 . What made our stay here even better is that their restaurant - inside the glass stained windows right behind me - is within the top 2 best rated restaurants in Esfahan. Having had dinner and breakfast there, I can definitely see why 😍 . We arrived at breakfast an hour late one day, and simply wondered if we could order some small snacks. To our surprise, the wonderful staff here brought us a wide selection of breakfast dishes, enough to make us full until dinner. I am really so grateful to everyone at this amazing hotel and definitely recommend you guys to experience it for yourselves! 😊 . What’s the last hotel that really impressed you? Will take notes for my future trips! 😉 . 📍Ghasr Monshi Hotel, Esfahan, Iran

Truth time: Back from a much needed social media detox. How often do you do this? 🙌🏼 I feel like it’s so important to give your mental health the value and attention it deserves, and to provide yourself the space you need when you feel burnt out! And constantly being on social media - at least for me - makes burning out very easy. I encourage anyone feeling exhausted from this platform to step away until you’re ready to come back! 💛 . This was from a beautifully peaceful morning when I woke up early in Shiraz and ended up being the only person at Vakil Mosque when it opened. I was so happy I got to enjoy this moment in silence ✨ . Btw, will be back with more Stories of Iran soon too - I’ve already been back from this country for 2 weeks now, but am later-Storying for life so soon you’ll be seeing Stories of Esfahan and Kashan! 🤣 For more on Tehran, Shiraz and Yazd, head on to my Story Highlights 🙂💙 . Let’s talk about getting into Iran. Many of you have asked me how easy it is for Americans to enter the country. I traveled with my Italian passport so don’t have first-hand experience, but from what I’ve read and heard: US, UK and Canadian citizens can enter Iran only via an organized tour group. . Many of you have also asked me whether one can still enter the US after going to Iran. For those of you who like me, could go to the US with ESTA - you will lose ESTA after entering Iran. So what we’ll have to do is simply apply for a US tourist visa, and from what I’ve heard, there shouldn’t be any problems getting one 😊 Personally I don’t care at all about losing my ESTA, but if it’s important to you, then it’s something to consider. . With that said, I think Iran is 150% worth visiting. Politics can be messy, but Iranian people are super welcoming, warm and friendly. From my experience, they want nothing more than for foreigners to enjoy their beautiful country. . And because I get asked this more than anything else - Iran is one of the safest countries I’ve ever been to (and I’ve traveled extensively ). I felt safer walking alone there than I did in Barcelona or NYC 😅 Bottom line - you won’t regret coming to this remarkable country 💙 . 📍Shah Mosque, Esfahan, Iran . @madeonmade

When it comes to breathtaking mosques, it’s hard to beat Shah Mosque in Esfahan, Iran 🙏🏼 Built in the 1600s with seven-colored mosaic tiles, this mosque stands inside a beautiful square with lots of souvenir shops and cafes around. If you get here at 6:45 am like I did, you get the whole square to yourself and it’s one of the most peaceful experiences you can have in Iran 💙 . 🇮🇷 IRAN TRAVEL TIP: It is the law here for women to cover their head at all times in public, tourists included. I recommend bringing one (a scarf would do ) with you to the plane, because you have to cover up from the minute you step into the Iranian airport. I also recommend wearing lose pants/trousers and a tunic or lose dress that covers your entire body. . Any questions about traveling in Iran?👇🏼 . 📍Shah Mosque, Esfahan, Iran

How much more enchanting can a place get? 😍✨ Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque in Esfahan, Iran took 25 years to built and that doesn’t surprise me one bit because its interiors are filled with tiny mosaic tiles. Welcome to the amazing Mollabashi House in Isfahan, Iran ✨🇮🇷 This historical house is probably one of the most stylish and visually pleasing places I’ve stepped foot in. . It was built in the 18th century and was purchased by Mollabashi, an astronomer of the King of Persia back in the 19th century. This house used to be a religious and cultural institution during the Qajar era, and today its stained glass windows, mirrored walls and colorful ceilings impressed me like no other 🌈 A true gem not to miss in Isfahan! . Spent the day getting lost in the beautiful labyrinth city of Yazd 🇮🇷 This historical town has really unique Persian architecture, including the largest networks of underground water channels in the world and an abundance of wind towers - Yazd is actually nicknamed the “City of Windcatchers” 🌬 . Welcome to my Iran series! 🇮🇷 I’ve only been here for a few days and am super excited to keep exploring this magnificent country. Incredible architecture, friendly locals and delicious food have been just some of the highlights so far 😍 And because some of you have asked - it is completely safe here, in fact I feel safer here than in Europe where I live 😅 Don’t believe what the media feeds us! 😉 . Vakil Mosque pictured here is one of my favourite spots so far. It was built in the 18th century under the orders of Karim Khan, ruler of Shiraz back in the days. Wahiba Sands Desert was one of the highlights of our Oman trip 🐪 I’ll never forget the refreshing touch of soft sand on my feet 👣, the magical and serene nights chatting on top of dunes 🌙, trying to slide down big dunes and failing (sand isn’t slippery of course 🤣 ), and simply marveling at all that nature had to offer 🏜 . TRAVEL TIP: I recommend staying at least one night here to really have time to enjoy this place. There are lots of great desert camps - two that I recommend are Safari Dunes Camp and Desert Nights Camp ⛺️ . Thank you @lulus for gifting me this perfect desert dress 💙 #lulusambassador #lovelulus 📍Wahiba Sands Desert, Oman . . . . #nakedplanet #lpfanphoto #lonelyplanet #wonderful_places #earth #earthfocus #travelawesome #agameoftones #fantastic_earth #passionpassport #awesomepix #beautifuldestinations #speechlessplaces #living_destinations #lensbible #earthpix #visitoman #dametraveler #voyaged #travellingthroughtheworld #sheisnotlost #girlsdreamtravel #tlpicks #bestplacestogo #experienceoman

Throwing back to Bibi-Khanym Mosque, a must see if you’re in Samarkand 🕌 In the 15th century, it was one of the largest and most magnificent mosques in the Islamic world. But sadly the earthquake of 1897 had destroyed it, and major parts of the mosque were restored during the Soviet period. Today you’ll still see lots of ruins there, but despite all that, it is still an absolute marvel to explore 💙 . Get ready to see more mosque photos soon because... T-4 days till I fly to Iran! 🤩🇮🇷 Where’s your next trip? 🌎 . 📍Bibi-Khanym Mosque, Samarkand, Uzbekistan . . . . #wonderful_places #girlsdreamtravel #travelawesome #sheisnotlost #bbctravel #beautifulmatters #passionpassport #dametraveler #voyaged #awesomepix #awakethesoul #hello_worldpics #awesomeglobe #welivetoexplore #artofvisuals #stayandwander #lpfanphoto #lonelyplanet #bestplacestogo #travellingthroughtheworld #living_destinations #tlpicks #beautifuldestinations #lovetheworld #agameoftones

During my trip to Oman, I discovered one of my favourite hotels in the whole world - Al Bustan Palace in Muscat 🏝 This @ritzcarlton resort blew us away with a room that opened up to a gorgeous pool, another fantastic pool which faces the ocean, a beach and breathtaking beachfront restaurants, hammocks under the sun and magnificent food - just to name a few things 😍 . I really can’t recommend this resort more if you want to treat yourself to a relaxing holiday with heavenly views! 🌊 To see more of what I’m talking about, head on to my Story Highlights 😉💙 #AlBustanPalace #RCMemories What’s your favourite hotel in the world? 🌍 . . . . #speechlessplaces #welivetoexplore #luxuryhotelsworld #luxuryworldtraveler #luxwt #luxuryhotels #dametravelerhotels #muscatoman #girlsdreamtravel #exploretheglobe #beautifulhotels #living_hotels #travelawesome #experienceoman #cntraveler #travellingtheworld #muscat #omanair #blondesandcookies #americanstyle #luxuryresorts #letsgoeverywhere #poolside #tasteinhotels
